No student may be left unattended, including outside. Students are ALWAYS to be attended to and escorted by 3Hearts Tutors or Adults*, including to the restroom doors. Students must always ask a Tutor to use the restroom.
Tutors must always radio the Director (or his assigned substitute) if going outside with a class, and when returning inside.
There must be two Tutors in a classroom and other areas with students.
Always keep your hands, feet, food and harsh words to yourself. Physical or harassing behaviors, especially on but not limited to the playground, will not be tolerated and will be documented.
Tutors must escort students to and monitor restroom (RR) breaks at the doors. Except for Pre-K and Kindergarten grade, students must individually enter and use RRs (either gender is available at the discretion of the Tutor).
ALWAYS report to your parents, Tutor or Director any behavior by a Tutor, Adult or schoolmate that you believe is harassing, bullying or makes you feel uncomfortable.
If you are ever in an uncomfortable situation with anyone (adult or schoolmate) where you feel trapped or scared, yell as loudly as you can for help and do everything you can do physically in order to escape.
Adults and students should always report suspicious behavior or even that which appears improper, to the Director, the Director of Religious Education or the Pastor.
Completion of the Diocese of Nashville’s Safe Environment & Background Check is mandatory for any adult to attend or to participate in any class or activity. If it is not completed, a parent is only allowed to drop-off and pickup their students.
Any violation of these policies or Safe Environment standards by students or adults will be documented by the Tutor and Director and may face expulsion or termination at the discretion of the Director, the Director of Religious Education or the Pastor.
* “Tutors” includes assigned Tutors of 3Hearts Academy or any Adult Volunteers allowed at 3Hearts.
The background check is a Diocesan requirement for any person over 18 years old who desires to work, volunteer or be present for any activities and ministries that will involve minor children at Catholic parishes. For example, Assembly, field trips, ice cream day etc.
If you do not complete the program then you will only be able to drop your children off and pick up.
